HondaLink Navigation NA App Reviews

The navigation works great especially since it is so inexpensive. If only it had Canada on there as well and it would be perfect.

Not worth it!

Totally not worth it. First off, to use the app, you have to buy $160 Apple Kit to connect your phone to the car. Its 3 cords and very bulky. The app itself is horrible. It doesnt even give street names like "Turn left on Main Street". Instead it just says "turn left". If you miss a turn due to the vague directions, it takes forever to recalculate the route. If I could return the purchase and get a refund, I would. That said, dont bother!

Horrible

GPS was a deal breaker when I was buying a car. I was assured this system was great. $60 and cord, not working. After 6 months an upgrade and mistakenly using my lightning cord it works. If I car turns or hits a bump, screen goes black, sometimes it comes back. No traffic, finding destinations not current (didnt show restaurant as nearby and I was in parking lot) and clock displays over the display that tells you how far away your turn is. Directions are poor. Told me I was at restaurant when in actuality it was on opposite side of street and I had to pass it and make a u-turn to get into parking lot. Tells you how many minutes to destination not eta my 5 year old garman shows posted speed, what the exit looks like traffic etc. I would love it if I could display my other navigation apps, i.e. Waze Its bad enough for me wish I bought another car with built in gps

Hello Honda got an iOS 9 update yet?

Once again Honda has failed to implement a timely update with their app in coordination w/ Apples requirements. Pretty pathetic since Apple gives them months in advance beforehand) Basically, its not connecting to the server when trying to input an address ...(aka: as of 10/2015 it doesnt f^+*#% work)

No downloadable maps ?

I downloaded this app today but disappointed. After spending $60 what I got ? No downloadable maps. Need internet connection all the time. I realy dont want to spend my data for maps everytime i use this app. Not realy worth spending this much money

Hondalink Navigation

I want my money back! After investing on the app and the cables, I ended up with a useless app, considering that its coming from Honda! The voice directions were vague, it does not mention street names, it only says l: turn on next left or turn on next right! The voice is so boring, I could fall asleep at the wheel. Not to mention all the bugs I have to go through to start and restart the app to make it run. This is not worth paying for! I want a refund.

issues with display

It worked fine for the first week then all of sudden it does not display on my screen.

Piece of Junk

They came out with this and arent doing anything since they know CarPlay is coming (though not for us with the current model car). We got "jipped" I wouldnt be surprised if nothing else is ever added. Toyota next and all because they couldnt release a decent app. For the love of Pete!!!! JUST LET US USE ANY GPS APP and Ill be thrilled.

Not working

It keeps saying it cannot connect to the server. But I have full signal! All of my other map apps are working just fine and always are much faster than this app-and they were free. It is pretty frustrating using his app, but I do because it connects to the screen in the car.

Fails to work.

For the past couple of weeks, it has failed to connect to its remote server, regardless of which connection I am on, irreverent of numberous reinstallations, and definitely out of my ability to diagnose, even with the internets help. So, to me, this is a $60, functionless application. Right now, I cannot even get to the map screen, since it wants a Hondalink ID, yet it cannot connect to server to verify that ID.

Need to fix

After paying $60 and another $110 for cables Im a little disappointed. Connection is not always made and not easy to access. We bought a 2015 CRV and have an iPhone 5. Weve had it 1 month and Ive had to reboot my phone to many times just to get the app to connect. Sitting and waiting while the app is clocking is quite a frustration. Mapping takes you in directions that are out of the way, making the trip longer than necessary. Please, please, please do some fixes!

Very expensive and barely functioning.

To use this app, you must purchase a very expensive set of cables. The app itself is ridiculously expensive considering the fact that it barely even works. Honda hasnt updated the app in over a year. Its obviously not a priority to them. I purchased my car with this feature a huge selling point. It is not worth the money at all. Its extremely dishonest of Honda to market this product and I will be in contact with Apple to get a refund and will be returning my cables.

Not impressed

I just bought an HRV and was sold on not getting the navigation model based on the fact that this app would be able to replace that. I went on my first road trip and found it difficult to use, especially in tandem with other applications. I was constantly restarting and reloading. I would have been much better off just using google maps; btw, it would make more sense especially considering that the HDMI cable makes it possible for you to view your phones screen.

Works great

Must call customer service with any issues on the Honda line it is a fantastic app but get help to be dialed in

Horrible

Wish I could get my $60 back! Kept trying to take me down a dead end road. Had to turn app off to charge my phone after about 70 miles because it drained my battery life.

WASTE OF MONEY

This is worthless. It doesnt work most of the time and Honda does not up date it with new phones. Worthless piece of crap. Just like Honda has turned out to be.

Not good at all.

Do not waste your money, not sure what kind of maps they decided to use but the navigation is really bad. Car very often shows up on the road instead it is to the side most of the time. Slow to sync with the gps on the phone, so most of the times you already passed the place(s) you need to go when it figures out that you already there. Suggestions to developers. Why dont you use the Apple "Maps" or the "Google Maps" that most users use? Both of them work perfectly on my iPhone, so why not just display them on the screen? Instead you decided to use "Nokia Maps” from a dying company. Oh well, spent $59 dollars for nothing.

Bad directions, frustrating to use

Wish I didnt waste my money. The directions are horrible, and its frustrating to use while driving. I wish it would give alternate routes along the way like Google does. If Im in a hurry, I still always use google maps. I like the app because then I dont need to mount my phone, but that is really the only good thing. Honda needs to find a way to keep the app going while you use your phone- once you click out of the app the screen goes blank on the car.

Cannot access contacts

This app is useless since it does not allow you to access the contacts on your phone. How do you get a refund.

Totally broken

Doesnt even connect to my new Honda 2015 CRV. Dont waste your money. Just use Apple or Google maps on your phone. Honda needs to get their act together and improve this or just offer Apples Car Play.
