HondaLink Navigation NA App Reviews

I recently moved to an Apple phone and was excited about being able to "upgrade" my 2015 CRV to include navigation on the dash. After more than $150, I get screen colors that are washed out and dull, and a sub standard nav system. It would have been worth it if Honda had simply put the Apple maps on the dash. Not worth the investment.

App reminds me of first GPS 20 years ago. Commands are basic- take a left, take a right etc. Major numbered routes are spoken but street names are not “digitized”. If you pass a turn or are detoured, the app has a spasm attempting to recalculate a revised route. It keeps trying to get you to do a U turn and go back. Maps seem fairly current and accurate but in Boston area not much new road construction is occurring. Better off to purchase a standalone GPS and put on dash when needed than buy this app and the required cables. I am shocked that Honda would attach their name to this app of such inferior quality.

Honda should just work with the google maps interface

I got this app to go with my 2015 CRV. The first couple times I used it around town it worked ok. Then I needed to take a long 1000 mile trip. I had a very difficult time. It took 15 minutes for the routing to work. Then I received a phone call while i was using it. After i hung up my screen display on my car went all black and I couldnt get the radio to respond or work for 10 minutes. Lucky I had my tom tom for backup. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Its $60 for the app and another $100 for the wires. What a waste !

App doesnt work at all. I expected better from Honda.

Im not sure why all the negative reviews. Spend $50 bucks on this app and save $2000 on a built in navigation system. It looks great on my H-RV EX 7 inch display. Im happy with it!

Does not even connect to the servers when on wifi or full cellular connection. As such, it fails its basic purpose of being a NAVIGATION app. Its hard to understand how a company with just over $120 billion in revenues a year, spending $5.5bil on R&D, can create apps that appear to have a budget of $1000 with a 15 yr old in charge of app development. Insanely disappointing from a company I respected so much. Hopefully theyll update this app before (if ever again) the summer.

A navigation app that does not speak street names In 2016. No update in the last 8 months. Spent $60 on this app now Honda has abandoned it.

The app on multiple phones says "cannot connect to server - retry" my phone has valid Internet connection. So the app is useless!! Refund my money!!!

Can I give it zero stars? Such a waste of $$. Nothing but problems just trying to get the app and phone to display on the in car screen. Usually takes 15 minutes till I give up and use the Google Maps app. Last time it couldnt communicate with the server (?) and showed me driving on a non existent road.

Extremely disappointed & very expensive for me (app + cables + new phone to work with Honda Link). Ive had this since about June 2015 & mostly it has not worked (today is Mar 1 2016). When it did work, it was not at all user friendly. I spent about 8 hours of my time + the Honda salespersons time + the App Developers time + my phone carriers time + Apple Supports time to get this working again. Need I say more?? I will...if your app quits working, delete & download again before getting on the phone for hours on end. If youre lucky, it may just fix the problem.

Have had it a year. Never works when I need it. Waste time trying to get it to work. Aggravating. And I am a computer savvy person. Honda, get it together.

Navigation functionalities are good and user friendly. Most horrible part is it hangs very frequently. You need to remove the cable and connect again.

App doesnt even work anymore, itll either show the map and not let you enter a destination or the map will fail to load and just stay stuck on "loading" this app has been a problem since I wasted the $55 on it. If youre thinking of downloading this app, just take a look at the consistency with how similar the majority of the complaints are in here.....I strongly advise that you DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP, until theres an update thatll actually fix the existing issues.

Not iOS 9.3 compatible. Thanks again, Honda. I was a Honda fan for over 10 years, but this experience has ruined the brand. As an iOS developer, I am appalled at Hondas implementation. All I wanted was CarPlay. If this is what the factory navigation system is like, it is a total waste of money. If you ask Siri for directions, it totally messes up HondaLink to the point that you have to get your phone out and relaunch the system, which is not safe. Expensive adapter; Allow access; dangerous mass of wires tangled around your shifter and legs. Honda didnt bother to update their apps to be compatible with iOS 9 (or iOS 8) until after the public release, even though they have had months to test and update. Come on Honda?? Really? Dont have enough money to have your servers working?? App says it cant connect to servers. Very disappointed! You should give us free updates to Apples CarPlay.

Good app gives touch screen navigation feature at a lesser price. Happy to see few enhancements. 1. Navigation shall stay on when a is received. 2. Route color needs improvements. 3. Alternate route selection on the map.

Screen goes fuzzy while you are driving or turns black. This happens every time I use it. I paid way too much for this. Expected more from Honda. Wish I could get a refund.

Upgraded and cant use the app now. Trying to find any location or waypoint generates the error "Unable to connect to server."
